MA Bakery Business Boot Camp

King Arthur Baking is partnering with Prepshift to offer a 10-week business education and support program designed specifically for growing bakeries: MA Bakery Business Boot Camp.

This program is designed help you grow your bakery business with expert-led sessions on capital access, financial management, menu optimization, hiring, technology and more. You’ll build connections with other business owners and have opportunities for 1:1 support.

Businesses must be currently operating a retail location to qualify.

Program Overview & Timeline

  • Application open from April 10-30

  • Decision letters sent May 10

  • Selected businesses will receive a scholarship grant of $3,000

  • Selected businesses will participate in the Diagnostic Assessment as part of intake

  • Selected businesses will participate in 10 weeks of in-person and Zoom programming in Summer 2025 with optional weekly office hours

  • Further support and coaching is available to businesses located in Boston, Lowell, and Cambridge

Program Cost & Reimbursement Opportunity

  • Program tuition is $3,000, due at the beginning of the program period

  • Businesses may be eligible for tuition reimbursement if

    • Located in Massachusetts and up to date on tax obligations (sales tax, annual filings) and can produce a Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue

    • Participating owners and/or managers are W-2 employees

    • Willing and able to complete the Commonwealth Corporation’s Workforce Training Fund Express Program application

  • Reimbursements for eligible participants will be delivered 6-10 weeks following the conclusion of the program
